UPDATE: Refer to this blog post
Hello, my name is Gabriel Pfaffman. I am 21 years old and the founder of Space First. I believe that all people should be given an equal opportunity to explore what they are passionate about. This is why I am raising funds to prepare a future scientific voyager with the equipment necessary to discover more about their passion in STEM.
Purpose
I believe it is important to invest in our future, and our future is with STEM kids. To do this, we must insure that these interests are groomed and developed over their early years, putting these children in a position to take flight and achieve great success when they grow older.
Prizes
The prizes will be unique to each child. They will be hand selected for each child's interests and aspirations. Examples of possible prizes are: microscope, 3D Printer, Drone, Model Rocket, Raspberry Pi 3, etc.
Funding
All funding comes from fund raising through the lovely supporters of the FVF on GoFundMe and from the personal fundraising I have conducted. The personal fundraising includes playing music for donations instead of tips. If you're interested in joining the cause, you can email me at [email protected] for inquires about direct donations.
Requirements for Application
The student must be in the 6th grade when the application is submitted.
How to Apply
Please fill out the application form on the "Apply" tab and gain at least 2 nominations to be considered for the award. The nomination form is attached to the "Nominate" tab. The nomination form is to be filled out and submitted by the person who is nominating. Nominators must be adults who know the child and don't have a familial relationship with them. This can be a teacher, adviser, coach, etc.
Thank you for your time and support!
